Hot Hot Heat – The Ideal Temperature For Your Jacuzzi

Hot Hot Heat – The Ideal Temperature For Your Jacuzzi

You can tailor your Jacuzzi to suit you and your preferences in just about every way. You can customize your jets and your cover… and also the temperature! The temperature of your tub depends completely on your preferences and comfort levels. According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, the water temperature of a hot tub is best between 100°F and 102°F. It can cost more money and effect efficiency as well as add wear to your tub to constantly alter the temperature of your spa, so it’s best to find the sweet spot and stick to it.

Hot water isn’t for everyone though.

  • Pregnant women should be cautious when using a hot tub as elevated body temperatures may harm her fetus. It’s ok to sit in water at 100 degrees Fahrenheit or less if you need a soak.
  • Children shouldn’t be in temperatures above 104 for any reason. Much like pregnant women, its ok to let them dip in at about 100 degrees or less for a little while (5-10 minutes tops).
  • Those with high blood pressure or heart problems should avoid moving back and forth between high and low temperatures as it can cause an increase in blood pressure. (Such as sitting in a hot tub and jumping in the snow)

Heat and hot water can benefit a wide spread of ailments from sore muscles and joints to insomnia and everyday stress. In fact, history shows us that the Ancient Egyptians and Greeks used to bathe in heated waters treated with flowers and herb to relax and rejuvenate. Today, we have access to the convenience of Jacuzzi and Spazazz salts.
